Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately. First aider needs to protect himself.

Move out of dangerous area. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.

Inhalation: If breathed in, move person into fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.

In case of skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water.

In case of eye contact: Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. Protect unharmed eye.

If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and safety data sheet or label. Rinse mouth thoroughly with water

Advice for physician: No information on symptoms are availabe. Elementary aid, decontamination and symptomatic treatment.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray jet, dry powder, alcohol-resistant foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2).

Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet

Hazardous combustion or decomposition products formed under fire conditions:

Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Oxides of phosphorus

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate

to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

Accidental release measures

Use personal protective equipment. Remove persons to safety. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. The danger areas must be delimited and identified using relevant warning and safety signs.

Avoid release to the environment. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Prevent spreading over a wide area (e.g. by containment).

Retain and dispose of contaminated wash and/or firefighting water.

Contain and collect spillage and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations.

Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while observing

environmental regulations.

Handling and storage

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wear personal protective equipment.

Avoid contact of the substance. Do not breathe vapours or spray mist.

Observe general measures of preventive industrial fire and explosion protection. Electrical equipment should be protected to the appropriate standard.

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge.

Observe general industrial hygiene practice. Keep away from food and drink. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Contaminated work clothing should not be allowed out of the workplace. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.

Please thoroughly clean and care for the skin after finishing work. Follow the skin protection plan.

Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Do not store or transport together with foodstuffs.

Do not store together with oxidizing and selfigniting products. Do not store together with explosive, infectious and

radioactive products.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Product should be worked up in closed equipment and handled under the strictly controlled conditions as described in Art. 18 (4) REACH.

Do not breathe vapours, aerosols or mists. Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Eye protection: Depending on the risk, wear sufficient eye protection (safety glasses with side protection or goggles, and if necessary, face shield).

Hand protection: Choose gloves to protect hands against chemicals depending on the concentration and quantity of the hazardous substance and

specific to place of work. The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the specifications of EU Directive 89/686/EEC and the standard EN 374

derived from it. Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions

(mechanical strain, duration of contact).

Suitable: Butyl rubber gloves.

Gloves must be inspected prior to use. Gloves should be discarded and replaced if there is any indication of degradation or chemical breakthrough.

Gloves must be rinsed thoroughly after use.

Skin and body protection: Choose body protection in relation to its type, to the concentration and amount of dangerous substances, and to the specific

workplace, e.g. apron, boots, protective suit (EN 14605, EN ISO 13982-1, EN 13034).

Respiratory protection: Use respiratory protection unless adequate local exhaust ventilation is provided or exposure assessment demonstrates that

exposures are within recommended exposure guidelines. Respiratory protection complying with DIN EN 14387. In case of insufficient ventilation use

a dusk mask with filter P2 (short term exposure).

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: No special hazards are knonw.

Chemical stability: If material is heated above 130 °C / 266 °F highly exothermic reactions may result. Stable under normal conditions.

Hazardous reactions: Dust may form explosive mixture with air.

Conditions to avoid: Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products: When handled and stored appropriately, no dangerous decomposition products are known

Disposal considerations

This material and its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste. Dispose of in conjunction with appropriate waste disposal authorities

and in accordance with disposal regulations. Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste. For disposal local

regulation is binding.
