Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
not irritating
Conclusions:
In an eye irritation study of 3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dienenitrile was assessed to be non-irritating to eyes of rabbits.
Executive summary:

An eye irritation study was performed according to OECD guideline 405 on rabbits with dose volume of 0.1 ml.The animals were observed for 72-h and mean scores were noted.Mean score was 0.0 for cornea, iris and swelling of conjunctiva at 24, 48 and 72 h. Mean score for conjunctival redness was 0.7 at 24 h. All findings were reversible after 48 h. Hence, the test chemical3,7-dimethylocta-2,6-dienenitrile was considered to be non-irritating to rabbit eyes.
