Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

TGIC has a surface tension of 65.7 mN/m which is higher than 60mN/m, below which the substances have to be called surface active. Comparatively, distilled water has a surface tension of 72.75 mN/m.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
65.7
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

As compared to distilled water with a surface tension of 72.75 mN/m, TGIC has a surface tension of 65.7 mN/m, .

Distilled water is considered not to be surface-active. The value of 65.7 mN/m is higher than the limit for surface active substances of 60 mN/m, and thus, TGIC is not considered to be surface-active.
