Key result
Remarks on result:
no flash point - measurement carried out until boiling temperature

Boiling was in this test visually observed at approximately 75°C. No flammable vapour/air mixture was produced up to this temperature. From this, it was concluded that the test item has no flash point.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point of 1,2-dichloro-1-[difluoro(trifluoromethoxy)methoxy]-1,2,2-trifluoroethane (CAS 874288-98-9) .
No flash-point was observed below the boiling temperature of the test item.
Executive summary:

The flash -point of 1,2-dichloro-1-[difluoro(trifluoromethoxy)methoxy]-1,2,2-trifluoroethane (CAS 874288-98-9) was determined according to EU method A9 (2008), ISO 2719 (2002), ISO 3679 (2004), ASTM D93 (2002), ASTM D7094 (2012) and UN ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5: Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Part III: Classification Procedures, Test Methods and Criteria Relating to Class 2, Class 3, Class 4, Division 5.1, Class 8 and Class 9, Paragraph 32.4.1: “Non-Viscous Flammable Liquids” (2009). The test was performed in compliance with GLP principles.

The closed cup method was applied for the determination of the flash-point.

No flash-point was observed below the boiling temperature of the test item when the closed cup method was applied.

Description of key information

One reliable key study (Klimisch 1) is available. The flash point of the test item was determined with the closed cup method according to recognized gudielines (EU method A.9, ASTM D93, ASTM D7094, ISO 2719 and United Nations (UN), UN no. ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5 paragraph 2.4.1, 2009) and under GLP.

No deviations from the guidelines were observed during the test.

No flash-point was observed up to the boiling temperature of the test item.
