Sieving of Disodium tetrachloropalladate:

Total weight of sample (g)  Weight of particles ≥ 2 mm  Weight of particles < 2 mm
 20.72  10.54  10.18
Conclusions:
The 10th, 50th and 90th percentile average particle sizes were determined as 115, 597 and 1293 µm, respectively for the < 2mm fraction.
Executive summary:

The particle size distribution of Disodium tetrachloropalladate was determined by dry dispersion, following the ISO 14488:2007(E) and ISO 13320:2009(E) guidelines. The sample showed a very broad size distribution, and the laser light diffraction device had a limited range of 2 mm particle size, therefore, prior to analysis the sample was sieved and only the < 2 mm fraction was assessed.

The 10th, 50th and 90th percentile average particle sizes were determined as 115, 597 and 1293 µm, respectively.

The study is a unpublished guideline study that is acceptable for use without restriction.

Description of key information

The 10th, 50th and 90th percentiles from the particle size distribution of disodium tetrachloropalladate were 115, 597 and 1293 μm, respectively.

Additional information

Potthoff (2015) is an unpublished guideline study considered reliable and suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint. Particle size measurements were carried out after dry dispersion, according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The 10th, 50th and 90th percentiles from the particle size distribution of disodium tetrachloropalladate were 115, 597 and 1293 μm, respectively.
