Conclusions:
Based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the 96 hours LC50 was estimated to be 2917.242 mg/l on fish for substance 7-Anilino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid with mortality effects. Thus based on this value it can be concluded that the substance can not be consider for the aquatic classification as per the criteria of CLP regulation.
Executive summary:

Based on the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10, the 96 hours LC50 was estimated to be 2917.242 mg/l on fish for substance 7-Anilino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid with mortality effects. Thus based on this value it can be concluded that the substance can not be consider for the aquatic classification as per the criteria of CLP regulation.

Additional information

Predicted model data and experimental study result for the test chemical 7-Anilino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid (CAS No. 119-40-4) with respective read across were reviewed to summarize the following information:

In key study the QSAR prediction done using the EPI Suite ECOSAR version 1.10 (EPI Suite, 2016), the 96 hours LC50 was estimated to be 2917.242 mg/l on fish for substance 7-Anilino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid (CAS no. 119-40-4) with mortality effects.

Above predicted data supported by experimental study from GSBL – Joint Substance Data Pool of the German Federal Government and the German Federal States; 2015 which indicate based on effects such as O2 consumption, growth, mortality and buoyancy, the 96 hrs LC0 value for test substance 7-Anilino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid was found to be 100 mg/l.

From peer reviewed journal Chemophere. Vol. 28, No. 12, pp. 2203.2236, 1994 following studies available for different read across substances:

For read across chemical 7-Amino-4 hydroxy- 2 – naphthalenesulphonic acid (Cas no. 87-02-5) which is indicates lethal concentration (LC0) of test substance 7-amino-4-hydroxy-2-naphthalene-sulfonic acid for fish Leuciscus idus, Bruchydunio rerio,Salmo gaidneri, Pimephales promelas, Lepomis macrochirus, Poecilia reticulate was found to be 1000 mg/l for 96 hrs.

For read across chemical 7-hydroxy-1,3-naphthalene –disulfonic acid, dipotassium salt (Cas no. 842-18-2) which is indicates lethal concentration (LC0) of test substance 7-hydroxy-1,3-naphthalene –disulfonic acid, dipotassium salt for fish Leuciscus idus, Bruchydunio rerio,Salmo gaidneri, Pimephales promelas, Lepomis macrochirus, Poecilia reticulate was found to be >=1000 mg/l for 72 hrs.

For read across chemical 6-amino-4-hydroxy-2-naphthalene-sulfonic acid (Cas no. 90-51-7) which is indicates lethal concentration (LC0) of test substance 6-amino-4-hydroxy-2-naphthalene-sulfonic acid for fish Leuciscus idus, Bruchydunio rerio,Salmo gaidneri, Pimephales promelas, Lepomis macrochirus, Poecilia reticulate was found to be 1000 mg/l for 48 hrs.

Thus, based on above all lethal concentration values, it can be concluded that the target chemical 7-Anilino-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulphonic acid (CAS No. 119-40-4) can be considered as non-toxic to fish and thus cannot be classified as hazardous as per the CLP criteria.
