Study Observed:
Styrene exposure resulted in moderate skin irritation (definite erythema) as well as slight necrosis (development of a thin layer of devitalized tissue which resulted in exfoliation).
Study authors concluded that there was no indication that the substance was absorbed through the skin in acutely toxic amounts (as judged by the gross appearance, behavior and body weights of animals) during the repeated-exposure skin irritation tests.Applicant's summary and conclusion
