Description of key information

The test substance is an orange powder. The melting point of FAT 40826/A under standard conditions is greater than 400 °C however, thermic decomposition started at about 320 °C. No boiling point of the test item was observed under the conditions of the test. The density of the test substance is 1665 kg/m³ at 19.8 °C. The mass median (aerodynamic) diameter of the test substance is 5.1 µm. The particle size distribution was found to range from approximately 0.3 µm to 18 µm. The vapour pressure of FAT 40826/A was 2.04E-30 Pa. The calculated partition coefficient of the test substance between n-octanol and aqueous phase is: log Pow <-6.1. The water solubility of the test substance is higher than 740 g/L at room temperature. The surface tension of the test substance at 20.9 °C in water (concentration 0.1 %) was determined to be 60.9 mN/m. The test substance is auto-flammable under the conditions of the test. FAT 40826/A is neither considered to be highly flammable nor explosive nor oxidising. The test substance has dissociating properties because the molecule will be negatively charged over the whole environmentally relevant pH region.
