The measured dynamic viscosity of 1,4 -Butanediol (BDO) is 84.9 mPa-s at 20 °C (Hort, E.V. and Taylor, P., 2001), as reported in a reliable authoritative secondary source. According to REACH Guidance document R.7a (May 2008), this equates to a Kinematic viscosity value of 83.2 mm2/s at 20 °C when calculated using a density for 1,4 -Butanediol of 1.02 g/cm3. Another dynamic viscosity value of 83.5 mPa-s has also been reported in a different reliable authoritative secondary source.

Classification and Labeling - Given that the kinematic viscosity is >20.5 mm2/s, BDO would not be classified as an aspiration hazard.
