Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Testing for toxicity to sediment organisms is not considered necessary because:

- The substance hydrolyses rapidly and its silanol hydrolysis product has a log Kow of <<5, therefore, partitioning to the sediment compartment is expected to be minimal.

- The substance is used under highly controlled conditions and, therefore, exposure of sediment is low.

- PNECsediment (freshwater and marine) for the silanol hydrolysis product has been calculated from PNECaquatic (freshwater and marine) on the basis of the equilibrium partitioning method and the risk characterisation ratios (RCRs) based on PNECsediment are <1 (see Section 10 of the CSR).
