Results on acute aquatic toxicity are available for fish (Pimephales promelas, LC50 (96h) 1376 mg/l), invertebrates (Daphnia magna, EC50 (48h) 1328 mg/L), and algae (Selenastrum capricornutum, EC50 (96h) 225 mg/L). EC10 (17h) as determined for Pseudomonas putida was 2476 mg/L . These results indicate, that butan-1 -ol is acute not harmful to aquatic organisms. These results indicate, that Butan-1 -ol is acute not harmful to aquatic organisms. Furthermore, based on the chronic NOECrepro (21d) of 4.1 mg/L for Daphnia magna butan-1-ol is very likely not harmful to aquatic organisms. Thus, no adverse effects were observed.
