Description of key information

To assess acute oral toxicity, female rats were tested according to OECD TG 423 and GLP. 2000 mg/kg bw was tolerated without mortalities, clinical signs, effects on weight gain or gross pathological findings.

To assess the acute oral toxicity of Diazokomponente Rot B to female Wistar rats, a study was performed according to OECD TG 423 and GLP The first step dose of 2000 mg/kg bw in poyethylene glycole was tolerated by female rats without mortalities, clinical signs, effects on weight gain and gross pathological findings. Based on these observations and recognising the need to protect animal welfare, no further testing of higher doses were considered. Overall, the test substance is regarded as non-toxic after oral application (Bayer AG 2011).
