Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Styrene oxide is moderately volatile from aqueous solution.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
1.6
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

In the SRC PhysProp database, the experimentally determined Henry's Law constant of styrene oxide is reported to be 1.58 10E-5 atm m³/mole (1.6 Pa m³/mole). Based on the result, styrene oxide can be regarded as moderately volatile from aqueous solution. This result is supported by the calculation using EPIWIN v3.20, HENRYWIN v3.10. The calculated Henry’s constant is 1.83 Pa m³/mole.
