Specific details on test material used for the study:
Test substance: Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate EGDMA CAS: 97-90-5
Key result
Water solubility:
1 086 mg/L
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
other: Guideline study OECD 105; relative standard deviation: 5.5%
Details on results:
The relative standard deviation (repeatability of the concentrations in all six samples was smaller than 15% and the three duplicate sets of samples showed no tendency of increasing concentration values. Thus the test was satisfactory.

Results:

   Duplicate set of samples 24 h at 30°C (mg/L)   Duplicate set of samples 48 h at 30°C (mg/L)   Duplicate set of samples 72 h at 30°C (mg/L) Mean value
 Water solubility  1053.20  1157.60  1047.40  1086.1
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): soluble (1000-10000 mg/L)
In a valid guideline study (OECD 105 and EU test method A.6 (Directive 92/69/EEC, Official journal L 383 A), non-GLP, but performed and documented equivalent to GLP standards) using the flask method the solubility of Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate in water was determined to be 1086 mg/L at 20 °C. The pH value of all test solutions was 6.05. So the test substance is considered to be soluable.
Executive summary:

In a valid guideline study (OECD 105 and EU test method A.6 (Directive 92/69/EEC, Official journal L 383 A), non-GLP, but performed and documented equivalent to GLP standards) using the flask method the solubility of Ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate in water was determined to be 1086 mg/L at 20 °C. The pH value of all test solutions was 6.05.

Analyses were performed by HPLC-UV on a reversed-phase column (C 18) using external standards. The pH values of the

samples were measured over a period of 30 min after after equilibrium was reached.

So the test substance is considered to be soluable.

The relative standard deviation (repeatability of the concentrations in all six samples was smaller than 15% and the three duplicate sets of samples showed no tendency of increasing concentration values. Thus the test was satisfactory.
