CAE is an UVCB of fatty acids and glycerides essentially. The adsorption/desorption coefficient of CAE has not been determined experimentally.

A literature review was performed for each component (please refer to attached file). Adsorption/desorption coefficients are very high for fatty acids, glycerides, alkyl furans (ca 85% w/w total). Adsorption/desorption coefficients of alkyl triols are lower (554 L/kg); however, their content is very low.

Description of key information

As the substance CAE is a UVCB, the adsorption/desorption coefficient of CAE has not been determined experimentally. A literature review was performed for each component. Only the components whose content is > 10% are considered for the determination of the Koc. The highest value of 8.8*107L/kg is chosen as a worst case value for the sediment and for the soil. Indeed, a high Koc value indicates a strong adsorption onto sediment or onto the soil, resulting in highest PECsedimentor PECsoilvalues.
