Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse eyes with plenty of water for several minutes. Seek

medical attention if irritation develops.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash skin with plenty of water, and soap if available, for

several minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation

develops or persists.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam and dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1)

Carefully shovel up spills (avoiding generation of dust) and

place in labelled containers for disposal or recycling.

Dispose of in accordance with local regulations at a

suitable facility.

Handling and storage

Handling: Rubber/plastic gloves and safety goggles are worn to prevent

skin and eye contact. Dust filter masks are worn where dust

or particulates are generated by the use process. General

industrial hygiene practices of avoiding contact with eyes,

skin and clothing, and washing thoroughly after handling,

are followed. Local exhaust ventilation is used.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in closed, sealed containers.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre drums of 50 kg net weight with polyethylene inner

bags.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment:

Respiratory protection : In the case of dust or aerosol formation use respirator with an approved filter.

: Half mask with a particle filter P2 (EN 143).

Hand protection            : Suitable material : Nitrile rubber

Break through time       : > 480 min

Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace

conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).

Eye protection               : Safety glasses with side-shields

Skin and body protection : Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.

                                               No special protective equipment required.

Hygiene measures             : Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental exposure controls

General advice                     : Prevent product from entering drains.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: Dust explosion Class St 2: Strong explosion potential 100 g per cubic metre (modified Hartmann tube).

Dust explosion determined by test: Y

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Spilled material can be collected (shovel spills) and may be

recovered by recrystallisation in ethyl acetate.

Carefully shovel spills (avoid generating dust) into

appropriate containers for disposal. To remove residue, wet

with water, absorb with sand or

vermiculite and place in

compatible container for disposal. Keep spill out of sewers and open bodies of water.  Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at a suitable facility with waste gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
