Description of key information

LC50 (96h) Oncorhynchus mykiss: > 100 mg/L (Semi-static). The study was carried out in accordance with the OECD Guideline 203 and EU method C1, and under GLP. Fish were exposed to the product (nominal concentrations: 0.01- 0.1 - 1 - 10 - 100 mg/l)  for 96 hours in a semi-static system. Analytical monitoring revealed that cyclopentanone was stable throughout the 96 hours exposure. No mortality and no sub-lethal effects were observed at the tested concentrations up to 100 mg/l. So the LC50 is higher than the nominal concentration 100 mg/l expressed as test material. Cyclopentanone is considered as not dangerous to the tested aquatic organisms.

Additional information

Three others studies of reliability 3 were also available but they were not taken into consideration, since they were poorly described or did not follow recognized guidelines. They did not raise however higher concern than the key study.
