Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The compound (CAS no 3741-80-8) was tested for its biodegradability. In a 28 day biodegradability test carried out according to EC guideline C.6 Degradation Biological Oxygen demand, there was no degradation observed for a period of 28 days. Therefore it is concluded that the compound is not readily biodegradable. In a second study (shake flask CO2 evolution test) after 57 days of exposure a mean evolution of 32% and 11% of theory were observed at test concentrations of 10 mg/L and 20 mg/L, respectively. It was concluded that unless acclimation occurred over a period of time, rapid mineralization of the test substance in an aqueous environment is unlikely.
