Administrative data

Endpoint:
in vitro cytogenicity / chromosome aberration study in mammalian cells
Remarks:
Type of genotoxicity: chromosome aberration
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
supporting study
Reliability:
3 (not reliable)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: No GLP data and no guideline was followed. No reference substance was used, there is no information on the number of replicates and the number of observed metaphases was 100 instead of 200 as recommended in the guidelines.

Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
A Chinese hamster lung fibroblast cell line (CHL) was used (Ishidate and Odashima, 1977). After a 6-h treatment, the ceils were rinsed with Dulbecco's PBS and recultured with fresh medium for another 18 h. The chromosome preparations were made using the standard air-drying method, and the frequency of the cells with chromosomal aberrations was scored in 100 well-spread metaphases for each concentration group.
GLP compliance:
not specified
Type of assay:
in vitro mammalian chromosome aberration test

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information):
