Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

log Koc >5.6

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
5.6

Additional information

The adsorption coefficient of Oxirane, mono[(C12-14-alkyloxy)methyl] derivs. was estimated to be log Koc >5.63 (Koc >426580) using the HPLC method. Therefore, it can be expected that 2-ethylhexyl glycidyl ether has a similar or lower adsorption coefficient and thus, reading across the value for Oxirane, mono[(C12-14-alkyloxy)methyl] derivs. (log Koc >5.6) to 2-ethylhexyl glycidyl ether can be considered a very conservative read-across.

This value indicates that 2-ethylhexyl glycidyl ether will be adsorbed by organic carbon in soil and can be considered to be immobile according these study results.
