The chemical safety assessment according to Annex I of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 does not indicate the need to investigate further the effects on sediment organisms.

Toxicity to sediment organisms is not a standard requirement according to Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and there is no indication from the CSA according to Annex I on the need to investigate further the effects on sediment organisms. The environmental exposure assessment for Oleic acid, monoester with oxybis(propandiol) (CAS 49553-76-6) according to Annex XI, Section 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 indicates no risk for the sediment compartment (all RCR < 1; please refer to Chapter 9 and 10 of the Chemical Safety Report for detailed information). Thus, a study with sediment organisms is not deemed necessary.
