Description of key information

The study need not be conducted because the Reaction mass of Sodium ethylenesulphonate and Isethionate-bisether disodium salt has no high potential for adsorption to soil (Annex IX point 9.2.1.3 column 1)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to the standard information requirements in Annex IX point 9.2.1.3, soil simulation testing is applicable for substances with a high potential for adsorption to soil. If the log Pow of a substance is below 3, its adsorption potential is regarded to be low. the Reaction mass of Sodium ethylenesulphonate and Isethionate-bisether disodium sal has a log Pow of -1.04 (estimated value), the substance has no high potential for adsorption to soil and biodegradation testing in soil is not required.
