Conclusion on classification

Acute toxicity data for the test item are available for two trophic levels (daphnia, algae). The results indicate that the test item was not found to immobilise the Daphnia magna up to a concentration of 100 mg/L and not found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green algae Desmodesmus subspicatus up to a concentration of 100 mg/L.

The chronic EC10for algae is a 72-h EC10of >100 mg/L (based on dissolved test item concentration) for the effect of the test item on growth rate of Desmodesmus subspicatus. This value was selected as chronic effect value for classification.

Acute (short-term) aquatic hazard:

·        EC50 is > 100 mg/L

According to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and subsequent regulations and Directive 67/548/EEC and its subsequent amendments, no classification for ACUTE/SHORT-TERM AQUATIC HAZARD is required.

Chronic (long-term) aquatic hazard based on acute, chronic data and enviromental fate of the product:

·        EC50 is > 100 mg/L

·        EC10 is > 100 mg/L

·        readily biodegradable

·        log Pow (3.05) < 4

According to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and subsequent regulations and Directive 67/548/EEC and its subsequent amendments, no classification for CHRONIC/LONG-TERM AQUATIC HAZARD is required.
