Additional information

Farnesene is a low viscosity liquid that is essentially insoluble in water (experimental value < 100 μg/L, QSAR prediction 11 μg/L). It has a partition coefficient (log10Pow) of >6.5 and a measured absorption coefficient of 4.69. It is not volatile, having a vapour pressure of 34 Pa @ 25C.Farnesene is not readily biodegradable but achieved > 60% degradation within 28 days, showing a clear potential to degrade in the aqueous environment. It is considered unlikely that it will persist in the environment.
