First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures:
In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
In case of inhalation:
Move subject to fresh air and keep him calm. Seek medical advice in case of troubles.
In case of skin contact:
Wash off using large amounts of water and soap.
In case of eyes contact:
Do not rub eyes, which may cause particles to scratch the eye. Rinse immediately with large amounts of water, seek medical advice if necessary.
4.1.4 In case of ingestion:
Treatment according to symptoms; seek medical advice.
4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:
Harmful if swallowed. Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. May cause an allergic skin reaction.
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:
If skin irritation or rash occurs, get medical advice/attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media:
Suitable extinguishing media: Extinguishing powder, carbon dioxide, halons, sand.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Not available.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
No specific fire or explosion hazard. Product arising from burning: hydrogen chloride.
Special fire fighting methods and special protective actions for fire-fighters:
Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
For non-emergency personnel:Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid inhaling dusts and contact with the eyes and the skin. Refer to section 8 of SDS for personal protection details.
For emergency responders: Wear relevant protective equipment (NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator if dust is generated, protective clothing, gloves and tightly fitting goggles).
Environmental Precautions: Do not allow material to be released to the environment without proper governmental permits.
Methods for Containment and Cleaning up: Bind with contact agent, sand or earth and sweep up immediately or use an approved industrial vacuum cleaner. Keep spilled product in tightly closed containers in a safe place up to the point of disposal. Avoid contamination of the floor and do not wash away with water. Disposal in accordance with the local regulations.
Reference to other sections: See information on safe handling.
See information on personal protection equipment.
See information on disposal.
Additional information: Not applicable.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Protective measures:
Good hygienic practices should be observed. Avoid inhaling dusts or aerosols; wear respiratory protection with filter for dusts and gases. Avoid skin contact; wear protective clothing, gloves, apron, headgear and eye protection. Work clothes should be washed separately at the end of each work day. Keep away from sources of ignition. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.
Advice on general occupational hygiene:
Avoid dusts and the formation of aerosols during handling and filling; exhaust ventilation, ventilation, switch on exhaust hood (max. 0.8 m/sec exhaust rate). Do not eat, drink and smoke in work areas. Wash hands after use. Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Equip workplace with an exhaust hood.
Conditions for safe storage, including
any incompatibilities: Store in dry rooms with room ventilation or exhaust ventilation. Store in undamaged, unbreakable and tightly closed original containers with labelling according to the regulations. Avoid product residues on containers. Do not store together with foodstuffs, acids or alkalis. Keep out of the reach of children.
Specific end use(s): Not applicable.

Special provisions / remarks
- Remarks:
- Protect against wetness. Packaging by the manufacturer is undertaken using packaging materials which, with regard to their leakproofness and strength, also suffice for products with a higher risk potential. Proper internal and external transportation is ensured by taking the measures that usually apply in the case of the transportation of corresponding products such as paying attention to the stacking height, securing packing drums against falling and labelling them according to the regulations. In the case of in-plant transportation, opened packing drums must be kept carefully closed in order to avoid the formation of dusts. Corrosive. Keep away from odour-sensitive goods and food, alcohol, tobacco, acids, lyes, amines, alcohols and water.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Appropriate engineering controls:
If user operations generate dust, fumes, gas, vapor or mist, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure to airborne contaminants below any recommended or statutory limits.
Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:
Eye/face protection:
Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists, gases or dusts. Recommended: Tightly fitting safety goggles.
Hand protection:
Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. After contamination with product change the gloves immediately and dispose of them according to relevant national and local regulations Recommended: (< 1 hour) Butyl rubber - IIR, Polyvinyl chloride - PVC, Viton® .
Body protection:
Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product. Recommended: Wear protective clothing.
Respiratory protection:
Use a properly fitted, air-purifying or air-fed respirator complying with an approved standard if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Recommended: Full mask with type ABEK-P3 filter. Wear breathing apparatus with separate air supply (compressed air respirator, tube apparatus) at higher concentrations.
Thermal hazards:
Wear suitable protective clothing to prevent heat.
Environmental exposure controls:
Avoid discharge into the environment. Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. In some cases, fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment will be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: No specific test data related to reactivity available for this product or its ingredients.
Chemical stability: Stable at room temperature in closed containers under normal storage and handling conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous reactions will not occur.
Conditions to avoid: Incompatible materials. In the case of dusty organic products the possibility of a dust explosion should always be considered. No hazardous reactions when used as directed.
Incompatible materials: Foodstuffs, acids or alkalis.
Hazardous decomposition products: Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous decomposition products should not be produced.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods:
Product residues and uncleaned empty containers should be packaged, sealed, labelled, and disposed of or recycled according to relevant national and local regulations. When uncleaned empty containers are passed on, the recipient must be warned of any possible hazard that may be caused by residues.
Product / Packaging disposal:
The generation of waste should be avoided or minimized wherever possible. Waste packaging should be recycled. Incineration or landfill should only be considered when recycling is not feasible. If empty container retains product residues, all label precautions must be observed. Return for reuse or dispose according to national or local regulations.
