Additional information

The oral route was considered representative for these fat liquors. Inhalation studies were not conducted. No data are available for sulphated derivatives. Read across from similar substances (sulfited fat liquors EC 307-037-4 fish oil and EC 281-975-1 rape oil) indicate that no effects were seen at the highest concentration tested.

Justification for selection of acute toxicity – oral endpoint

The study has been performed on the registering substance

Justification for selection of acute toxicity – dermal endpoint

Fish oil derivative has been selected as representative similar substance since the molecular chain distrubition is not only focused on C16-C18 but also components C20 and higher has been taken in to account.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification for acute toxicity oral is warranted under Regulation 1272/2008

No classification for acute toxicity inhalation is warranted under Regulation 1272/2008

No classification for acute toxicity dermal is warranted under Regulation 1272/2008
