Description of key information
The log Kow of the test item 1,2,3-propanetriol, mono- and diformates was estimated to be < -1.7.

As the test item 1,2,3-propanetriol, mono- and diformates is a substance difficult to test (substance hydrolyses in aqueous solution at pH 7 and 20 °C, hydrolysis half-life t½ is < 30 h) the log Kow was estimated using EPISuite, and respective QMRF and QPRF were prepared. The predicted value is log Kow < -1.7.
The test item is considered to be in the applicability domain of the model.
Approach for regulatory interpretation of the model result:
The regulatory cut-off value for the log Kow ranges between 3 (potential for bioaccumulation and adsorption) and 4 (classification and labelling).
Outcome:
The estimated log Kow is very low and indicates that the substance’s potential for adsorption and bioaccumulation is insignificant. The log Kow has also to be considered with regard to classification and labelling of the substance.
Conclusion:
The final result is considered adequate for a regulatory conclusion, no additional information is required.
