Additional information

The test substance 2-allyloxymethyl-2-ethylpropanediol has been found to the inherently biodegradable. As such removal in the environment is expected to be rapid. A read across study to the structural analogue trimethylolpropane diallyl ether (2,2-bis(allyloxymethyl)butan-1-ol) indicates that hydrolysis is unlikely to be relevant for 2-allyloxymethyl-2-ethylpropanediol.

There is no risk of persistence in the environment and biological removal processes will be rapid with complete mineralization expected in a short time frame.

2-allyloxymethyl-2-ethylpropanediol has a low log Kow of 1.4 and so no significant adsorption is expected.

2-allyloxymethyl-2-ethylpropanediol has a low vapour pressure of 0.035 Pa at 25 degrees celcius. As such no significant partitioning to air will occur.
