Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Specific details on test material used for the study:
Identity: FAT 40800/A
Batch number: WP 2/01
Aggregate state at room temperature: Solid / powder
Color: Dark orange
Storage conditions: At room temperature at about 20 °C, away form direct sunlight
Expiration Date: February 14, 2007
Relative self-ignition temperature:
279 °C
Conclusions:
The auto-flammability temperature of the test substance is 279 °C.
Executive summary:

In a GLP-compliant study, determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item, was performed according to EU method A.16. Applying a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, FAT 40800/A showed an exothermic reaction starting at about 250 °C. A maximum temperature of 572 °C was measured in the sample cube during the exothermic reaction. At the end of the measurement, the test item was carbonised and coloured black. Based on the test results, FAT 40800/A shows a relative self-ignition temperature at about 279 °C.

Description of key information

The auto flammability temperature of the test substance is 279 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
279 °C

Additional information

In a GLP-compliant study, determination of the relative self-ignition temperature of the test item was performed according to EU method A.16. Applying a linear increase in temperature of about 0.5 °C/min, FAT 40800/A showed an exothermic reaction starting at about 250 °C.
