Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Relative self-ignition temperature:
300 °C
Remarks on result:
other: test performed at ambient pressure, no pressure reading on the day of measurement reported

Any other information on results incl. tables

Two exothermic effects were observed. During the first exothermic effect, temperature of the test substance reached 400°C at an oven temperature of 300°C. Therefore, this temperature was considered as the self-ignition temperature of the test substance. During this effect, the test substance reached a maximum temperature of 412°C.

The second exothermic effect was observed at an oven temperature of 363°C. During this effect, the test substance reached a maximum temperature of 466°C.

During the experiment, the test substance had turned into a charred residue. It confirms that the test substance had decomposed and/or reacted during the experiment.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The self-ignition temperature of E-Y110 was determined according to EU method A.16 using a temperature programmed laboratory oven, a stainless steel wire mesh cube, NiCr/NiAl thermocouples and a temperature recording device. The self-ignition temperature of the test substance is 300°C.
