INFORMATION ON NANOMATERIALS
- Chemical Composition:
Tin Dioxide
- Density:
6.936 g/cm³
- Particle size & distribution:
10-100 nm; 78
- Specific surface area: 7.4293 ± 0.0132 m²/g - Remarks on result:
- other: the solubility of tin from tin dioxide in double distilled water at 20°C is below the limit of quantification (2.5 µl)
- Details on results:
- Quantification Limit, Detection Limit and Blanks
The limit of quantification (LOQ) is defined as the lowest fortification level with mean recoveries ranging from 70 % to 110 % at a relative standard deviation (RSD) of 20 % and blanks not exceeding 30 %. These criteria were fulfilled for the 2.5 g/L tin fortification level, The limit of detection was defined as 30 % of the limit of quantification (0 75 µg/L tin).
Detector Response
A stock solution of the reference item tin was prepared in water with 2 % aqua regia. The determination of the detector response of tin was performed in the calibration rage from 0.5 µg/L to 100 µg/L. The mass of 118 (tin) was used for the quantification. The results were used for calculation of the calibration curves to verify the linearity of detector response.
The detector response was linear within the range from 0.5 µg/L to 100 µg/L
The linear correlation coefficient for the calibration range was found to be >0 999.
Lutenium (175 m/z) was used as an internal standard in every measured sample.
Specificity and Selectivity
A highly specific detection system was used (MS). To identify tin the specific mass to charge ratio (m/z) of tin was used. Tin was quantified using certified
reference item as external standard and as internal standard lutetium was used for quantification. The analytical method can therefore be regarded as highly specific and selectie for tin. - Conclusions:
- Interpretation of results (migrated information): insoluble (< 0.1 mg/L)
The solubility of tin from tin dioxide NP in double distilled water at 20°C is below the limit of quantification (2.5 µl)
