Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Results:
According to the classification criteria only substances and mixtures for which the application of the UN Test C.1 (described in part III, Section 37.4.1.1 of the UN-MTC) is relevant needs to be considered. Application of classification criteria in the UN-MTC, Section 37.4 excludes solids (which will not become liquids during transport due to a high melting point). As the substance is only transported as part of oil mixtures, not as aqueous solution, testing an aqueous solution of the substance is also not considered relevant. Therefore it can be concluded that the hazard category corrosive to metals does not apply for this substance (but only for the oil mixtures containing the substance). In accordance with Data Submission Manual Part 5 of ECHA (page 29), "conclusive but not sufficient for classification" is selected as the reason for no classification for this hazard category.

Applicant's summary and conclusion
