- Conclusions:
- Absorption rates were determined to be 100% for all routes of exposure, assuming a worst case scenario.
No bioaccumulation of the substance in the body is expected. - Executive summary:
The toxicokinetic behavior after exposureto the substanceN,N-bis(2-hydroxypropyl-)benzamide(PRIMID V 40-32) is assessed in this report.
No relevant testing has been done by now to generate analytical toxicokinetic data forN,N-bis(2-hydroxypropyl-)benzamide. However, the physicochemical properties and toxicological data of the substance including the key determinants for a rational prediction of the toxicokinetic behavior in organisms do support in performing the assessment.
The physicochemical properties (i.e. low molecular weight, high water solubility and favourable log Powvalue) ofN,N-bis(2-hydroxypropyl-) benzamide enable the substance to readily pass biomembranes when exposed to organisms. The absorption rate for oral, dermal and inhalation routes are considered efficient (100% as worst case assumed for all three routes of exposure).
After absorption,N,N-bis(2-hydroxypropyl-)benzamide is expected to distribute widely in the body and the target organ would be possibly the liver. The substance is expected to be either excreted in form of parent molecules or broken down tobenzoic acid and aliphatic amine, further metabolized to hippuric acid andN-acetylation conjugate, which do become eliminated from the body. Accumulation in the body is therefore not expected forN,N-bis(2-hydroxypropyl-)benzamide.
