Additional information

This GLP study investigated the toxicity of the test substance Y-15864 (CAS 76524-94-2) to algae. The study was performed according to OECD 201 (Liedtke, 2012) with green algae, Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata, exposed to nominal concentrations of 0.38, 1.2, 3.8, 12, 38 and 120 mg/L for 96 h. GC analysis indicated that the nominal concentrations could not be maintained during the duration of the test. Therefore, the effect values are were based on the measured concentrations.

The test item had a significant inhibitory effect on the growth rate of the algae resulting in a NOEC of 0.56 mg/L and an EC50 of > 65 mg/L after 72 h (meas. geom. mean). At the end of the study, after 96 h, the NOEC was determined to be 1.8 mg/L and the EC50 was the same as after 72 h (EC50 > 65 mg/L). The yield of the algae was also statistically significantly reduced (NOEC: 0.56 mg/L (72 h) and 1.8 mg/L (96 h).
