- The volume of the test solution was reduced from 3.0 L to 1.5 L. The CO2 formed by biodegradation was absorbed with NaOH and determined on a carbon analyzer.

In 300 mL mineral solution 16.4 rsp. 30.1 mg of test substance were added and homogenized. STATISTICAL METHODS:
The biodegradation was calculated on the basis of the theoretical carbon content of the test substance and the cumulative quantities of carbon dioxide determined on the days of measurements. For the calculation the formula given in the guideline was used.
