Results:

During initial pumpdown the observed vapour pressure of the sample at ambient temperature fell from around 2x10-2 Pascals using the rotary pump only to below the observable threshold (<5x10-4 Pascals) when the diffusion pump was used. On warming to 91 °C a vapour pressure of 7.8x10-4 Pascals was observed representing a rate of pumping of sample of around 0.1 μg per hour. The sample was then further pumped overnight at 100 -105 °C before Run 1 was performed and over this period the vapour pressure fell to below the detection limit. After Run 1 the sample was found to have remained intact after the measurements and consequently the vapour pressure determination is considered appropriate to the bulk of the substance. The vapour pressure at 25 °C obtained via extrapolation of the indicated vapour pressure reationship was 3.458x10-7 Pa.
