Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Reliable measured hydrolysis study for acetone oxime is available and included in the dossier.

JE Wynfield Rhodes (1934) provides a reliable study where the equilibria between acetone oxime, acetone and hydroxylamine in dilute aqueous solution (approx 1%) at pH between 2.4 and 6.8 and at a temperature of 49.7 degC was measured. It was concluded that the hydrolysis constant is approximately 16 x 10-6 in neutral conditions but increases somewhat (up to 4 times) when the solution becomes very acid. However, thehalf-life was not determined.

Environment Canada (2010) published data regarding the hydrolysis of the analogue substance, butanone oxime, in 2010. The information shows that butanone oxime is degraded by 14% over a 4 -day window at a pH of 7 and a temperature of 20oC due to hydrolysis. Therefore, the half-life is 18.5 days.
