RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

No significant time dependence was observed for the corrected surface tension value of the 90% saturated solution. The actual temperatures of the parallel sample measurement with the approximate age of the test solution as well as the measured and corrected surface tension values are summarised in Table 1.

The individual surface tension values of test item in aqueous solution was found to be between 70.54 mN/m and 71.69 mN/m at 21.01±0.09°C (95% confidence interval) using the ring method (when each individual value represents the mean of at least five determinations for each measurement). The measured values were corrected with Harkins-Jordan correction factor. The measured surface tension was multiplied by the proper Φ𝑏𝑏, the corrected surface tension was found to be 71.55 mN/m.

As the surface tension value of the aqueous solution of the test item (at 90% of the saturation level) was higher than 60 mN/m,Ocimene PQ [Reaction mass of (Z)-3,7-dimethylocta-1,3,6,-triene and dipentene] is classified as not being a surface active substance.

DEVIATION TO THE STUDY PLAN
Due to technical reason, the measurements were performed at approximately 21°C, different than indicated in the Study Plan. However, this fact had no impact on the integrity of the Study, the results are acceptable scientifically.

Conclusions:
The surface tension of the test item is 71.55 mN/m at 21.01 ± 0.09°C.
Executive summary:

The surface tension of Ocimene PQ was determined using the ring method and according to OECD 115 technical guidelines. The surface tension value was found to be 71.55 mN/m at 21.01 ± 0.09°C (95% confidence interval). As the surface tension value of the aqueous solution of the test item (at 90% of saturated level) was greater than 60 mN/m, Ocimene PQ [Reaction mass of (Z)-3,7-dimethylocta-1,3,6,-triene and dipentene] is classified as not being a surface active substance.
