First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the subject from dusty emvironment and let him blow
his nose.
Consult with a physician in case of respiratory symptoms.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes as soon as possible with running water for 15
minutes, while keeping the eyelids wide open.
In case of difficulty of opening the lids, administer an
analgesic eye wash (oxybuprocaine).
Consult with an ophtalmologist immediately in all cases.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash the affected skin with soap and water.
Clean clothing.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth and administer fresh water.
If the subject prersents nervous, respiratory or
cardiovacular disorders: administer oxygen.
Contact a physician for advice.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Product is non flammable.
In case of fire in close proximity, all means of
extinguishing are acceptable (no restriction).
Product arising from burning: Exposure to heat or open flame may lead to formation of
poisonous gases. (Fluorides, hydrogen fluoride).
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear self contained breathing apparatus when in close
proximity or confined spaces.
When intervention in close proximity wear acid resistant
oversuit.
After intervention, proceed to clean the equipment (take a
shower, remove clothing carefully, clean and check).
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Take up spilt material avoiding formation of dust (e. g. by
previous wetting with water or by using an approved
industrial vacuum cleaner). Carefully transfer the spillage
into waste containers which have to be tightly closed and
labelled according to TRGS 201.
While taking up the spillage and cleaning the polluted area
avoid skin and eye contact as well as inhalation of the
substance e. g. by wearing appropriate personal protective
equipment (see section "Handling").
Do not discharge into the environment (sewers, rivers,
soils).
Immediately notify the competent authorities in case of
significant discharge.
Dispose in compliance with local/ federal and national
regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling: All working methods must always be designed so that exposure
by inhalation of the substance is minimized and eye contact
is excluded. In addition, skin contact with the substance
should be avoided.
Where possible, closed equipment has to be used during
filling, metered feeding, and sampling.
In the case of handling the substance in open systems,
extract any dust and at higher temperatures any vapours
which form directly at the point of origin.
If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not
possible or are insufficient, i.e. the occupational exposure
limit (2.5 mg/m3) according to Technical Rule 900 for
fluorides (calculated as F) cannot be adhered to, suitable
respiratory protection (e.g. :::) has to be worn.
To avoid skin contact, tested protective gloves (e.g. :::)
and, if applicable, suitable protective clothing (e.g. :::)
should be worn.
Safe eye protection (e.g. :::) is absolutely essential.
Conspicuously labelled eye-douche stations should be
provided in the immediate vicinity of the working area.
Storage: Store the substance in the original packing or other secure
containers which are labelled according to the regulations.
Keep them tightly closed and secure them against falling by
taking the appropriate measures.
Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.
Observe prohibitions on the joint storage of different
materials (see Technical Rule 514).

Dust explosion: Considering the composition of Cesium potassium
fluoroaluminate it is not expected that spontaneous ignition
a short time after coming into contact with air will occur.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: When applied and used in accordance with industrial
practices, the material will be consumed during the brazing
process.
The equipment for flux application by spraying is designed
with trays for collecting and recycling all excess. In
addition, a blow-off inside the fluxing booth removes drops
from the bottom of the heat exchangers- this excess is also
collected and recycled into the slurry tank.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Spillages outside the fluxing booth cannot be recycled due
to the risk of introducing contamination into the process.
Thus, spilled product must be collected and disposed of.
Suitable methods for flux slurry waste water minimization
and recycling have been published.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal of solid material residues in accordance with
European Regulations can be done based on Waste Key No. EC
060314 (Solid Salts and Solutions Except Cyanides and Heavy
Metals).
For highly contaminated wastes Waste Key No. EC 060499
(Residues of Inorganic Chemicals Containing Metals) is
applicable.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Suitable methods for water purification have been published.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Packaging:
Empty PE bags (inner-liner packaging for flux drums) can be
handled in accordance with Waste Key No. EC 150102
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Product is not used by the public at large, therefore not
applicable.
