Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
In case of eyes contact : immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical aid.
In case of skin contact : flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Get medical aid if necessary.
In case of ingestion : get medical aid. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Do not induce vomiting.
In case of inhalation : remove from exposure and move to fresh air immediately. Get medical aid. If not breathing, give artificial respiration.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media : use water spray, dry chemical, carbon dioxide, or appropriate foam.
Specific hazards : irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion.
Protection of fire-fighters : wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.
Extinguishing waters should be collected to avoid contamination of the environment.
Accidental release measures
Individual precautions : handle the dispersed product wearing chemical safety glasses, protective gloves and clothing and respiratory protective equipment (P3).
Measures after leaks or accidental spillage : clean up spills immediately. Sweep up or absorb material, then place into a suitable clean, dry closed container for disposal. Provide ventilation.
Precautions for the protection of the environment : avoid contaminating the environment via the sewers or waters.
Handling and storage
Handling : avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Keep container tightly closed. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Use with adequate ventilation to avoid dust.
Storage : store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances (combustibles).

Exposure controls / personal protection
French Occupational Exposure Limit : 1 µg/m3 (8 hours) for chromium VI compounds (as Cr).
Wear chemical safety glasses, protective gloves and clothing and respiratory protective equipment (P3).
Stability and reactivity
Stable at room temperature in closed containers under normal storage and handling conditions.
Contact with reducing agents should be avoided.
Disposal considerations
Do not release into sewers or natural environment.
Wastes have to be destroyed in an authorized facility, in compliance with wastes regulations.
