STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material:
The test item was stored in the test facility in a closed vessel at room temperature (17.3 – 20.8°C), protected from light.
- Stability under test conditions:
Stable
- Solubility and stability of the test substance in the solvent/vehicle:
H2O: < 0.1 g/L; Ethanol: unknown; acetone: > 1 g/L; CH3CN: unknown; DMSO: unknown - Key result
- Flash point:
- 194.5 °C
- Atm. press.:
- 101 325 Pa
- Interpretation of results:
- GHS criteria not met
- Conclusions:
- First, a safety test was performed: approx. 3 mL of the test item was heated with a Bunsen burner up to the temperature of 400 °C. The colour of the test item got darker (dark-brown) after cooling down.
Then, a pre-test and a main test with two experiments were performed using a flashpoint tester.
The flashpoint of 7-(4-ethyl-1-methyloctyl)quinolin-8-ol is stated as 194.5 ± 1.0 °C (corresponding to 467.7 K ± 1.0 K). The flash point is given as the mean value of the duplicate determination.
