Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Due to the physico-chemical properties such as poor water solubility (<0.518 mg/L), low volatilization potential (VP < 0.0001 Pa) and high log Koc (> 5), fatty acids C18-C22 (even numbered), tetraesters with pentaerythritol is expected to mainly distribute to soil and sediment. According to the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7b (ECHA, 2017) once poorly soluble chemicals enter a standard sewage treatment plant, these substances are expected to be removed from the water column to a significant degree by adsorption to sewage sludge. Therefore the release to surface waters, and thereby exposure of sediment and soil, is considered as marginally.
