Water solubility
- Key result
- Water solubility:
- < 10 mg/L
- Conc. based on:
- test mat. (dissolved fraction)
- Incubation duration:
- >= 24 - <= 72 h
- Temp.:
- 20 °C
- pH:
- >= 6.9 - <= 7.7
- Details on results:
- The results for the samples at loading rates 100, 1000, 10000 mg/L taken after stirring for 24, 48 and 72 hours are shown in the table below.
The result of the two times filtered sample shows that dissolved test item is not adsorbed to the filter.
The 24-, 48- and 72- hour measurements showed a large spread and it is considered not possible to obtain more accurate results.

a)Mean absorbance of the blank (n=3) is 0.0057 au.
b)Estimated value calculated by extrapolation of the calibration curve.
c) Absorbance of the samples is corrected for the mean of the blank.
d) Absorbance of the sample filtrated twice.
The concentration measured increased with the loading rate. The maximum concentration of dissolved test item measured in the aqueous phase was 0.041 g/L after 72 hours stirring time at 20°C at a loading rate of 10000 mg/L. Based on the observation of undissolved material in the nominal 10 mg/L solution used in the preliminary test, it was concluded that the water solubility of the test item is < 10 mg/L.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The water solubility of the substance at 20°C was determined to be <10 mg/L.
- Executive summary:
The water solubility of the substance was determined using the flask method in a GLP study according to EC A.6, OECD 105 and OPPTS 830.7840. Quantification was performed by UV. The pH of the aqueous samples was 6.9 - 7.6. From the measurements obtained after 24, 48 and 72 hours at concentrations of 100, 1000 and 10000 mg/L, the water solubility at 20°C was determined to be <= 41 mg/l. Based on visual observation of a water mixture at 10 mg/L nominal (preliminary test), the water solubility was concluded to be < 10 mg/L.
