PBT assessment

Currently viewing:

Administrative data

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence

Taking into account the lack of biodegradation in a ready biodegradation test (OECD 301B), Basic Red 76 is considered as potentially persistent or very persistent on the basis of screening criteria.

Bioaccumulation

The octanol water partition coefficient log Kow is -1.78 (EU A.8). This low log Kow indicates that the substance has hydrophilic properties and is not considered as bioaccumulable or very bioaccumulable.

Toxicity

Available data : EC50/algae/72 hours = 0.55 mg/L (OECD 201), EC50/daphnia magna/48 hours = 26.6 mg/L (OECD 202).

Criteria : Acute E(L)C50 from standard acute toxicity tests <0.1 mg/L.

Basic Red 76 is not classified as carcinogenic (cat. 1A or 1B), nor germ cell mutagenic (Cat. 1A or 1B), nor toxic for the reproduction ((cat. 1A, 1B or 2). It is not classified as "Specific Target Organ Toxicity Repeated Exposure category 1 or category 2 ".

Screening assignment : T screening criteria not met.

Basic Red 76 is potentially Vp/P but not B/vB and not Toxic. It is therefore not PBT or vP/vB.
