Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The instrument Pensky-Martens Apparatus was calibrated using p-xylene.
The initial temperature of p-xylene was 21.5°C and 21.6ºC for Replications 1 and 2, respectively.
The mean flash point of p-xylene was found to be 27.52ºC (after correcting to atmospheric pressure of 685.8 mm Hg), which was within the range of declared flash point of 27.2 ± 1.1ºC. This confirmed that the performance of the instrument was satisfactory
The initial temperature of test item was 27.8ºC and 27.6 ºC for Replication 1 and 2, respectively.
The flash point of test item was found to be 113.37 ± 0.14ºC (after correcting to atmospheric pressure.
During the flash point determination of test item, the barometric pressure was measured and it was 685.8 mm Hg. The observed barometric pressure was not close to atmospheric pressure 760 mm Hg; hence, the flash point was corrected atmospheric pressure of 760 mm Hg and reported.
