Description of key information
The acute toxicity of the test substance to embryos of zebrafish (Danio rerio) was determined the fish embry acute toxicity test, and based on nominal concentrations, the 96 hour LC50 was >100 mg test substance.
The acute toxicity of the substance to freshwater invertebrates (Daphnia magna) was determined under static conditions according to OECD Guideline 202 and EU Method C.2. The 48-hour EC50 of the test substance was >100 mg/L. The NOEC was 100 mg/L.
A study was performed to assess the effect of test item on the growth of the green alga (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) in a 96-hour static test according to OECD Guideline 201. The 72 and 96 hour ErC50 values were >98 mg/L (expressed as geometric means). The measured concentration at the highest test concentration was 98% of the nominal concentration at the start of the exposure and 97% at the end of the exposure (96h). In this case, the effect level can be based on the nominal test concentration. The ErC50 value could not be determined in this study and is above the highest test concentration. Therefore, the ErC50 value must be greater than 100 mg/L. The NOEC was 21 mg/L at both 72 and 96 hours.
A study was performed to assess the effect of the test substance on the respiration of activated sewage sludge. The method followed was designed to be compatible with the OECD Guideline 209. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) for the test substance after 3 hours exposure was 100 mg/L.
