Although, SOL-DP is insoluble in water (1.87*10-5mg/l), attempts to assess the toxicity of the substance to aquatic organisms were made. Short-term toxicity studies for fish and daphnia and an algae growth inhibition study were performed. The WAF method was used in these studies in order reach the maximum solubility. However, the solubility of the test substance was below the detection limit in all the three studies (see details in section of "chemical analysis"). The reduction in the substance solubility is explained as a cause of additional parameters which are not present in the water solubility study, for example: salts like CaCO3.

It is technically not feasible to measure the concentration of the substance in water and therefore the actual level of exposure cannot be determined. Based on these data, it can be reasonably assumed that aquatic organisms will not be directly exposed to the substance. The upper water phase is considered as a compartment of no concern for SOL-DP.
