Conclusion on classification
A chemical safety report according to Art. 14 REACH is not required for the registration of a substance in tonnage band 1-10 tonnes. Therefore no PNECs have been derived for this substance.
The results from a GLP guideline study for short term toxicity to daphnia reveal that oxaceprol did not exhbit aquatic toxicity to Dahnia magna at a test concentration of 100 mg/L (not toxic to daphnia).
The results from a GLP guideline study for short term toxicity to algae reveal that oxaceprol did not exhibit aquatic toxicity to Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata (not toxic).
According to ECHA's Annex III inventory the Fish Acute Toxicity model (KNN/Read-Across) in VEGA (Q)SAR platform predicts that oxaceprol has a 96h LC50 of 57.77 mg/L (good reliability).
The results from a GLP guideline study for assessing the redy biodegradability reveal that oxaceprol is considered to be readily biodegradable.
Classification criteria as to CLP are not met.
The results of the daphnia and algae studies do not trigger classification.
In line with EU-GHS (Regulation 1272/2008), which refer to potential harmonized classification of oxaceprol, oxaceprol does not fulfil the criteria relating to environmental hazards.
