Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The average particle size and the volumetric particle size distribution of Hydrafer (Hydronium jarosite) was determined by wet sieving under non-GLP conditions according to a protocol similar to OECD TG 110 (1981). The experiment has to be considered relevant, adequate and conclusive. Therefore it was rated „reliable with restrictions“, i.e. “Klimisch 2” according to the scale of Klimisch et al. (1997). According to the analysis, the mean particle size, D50 is 40 µm, while 10 percentile (D10) is 10 µm and the 90 percentile (D90) is 100 µm.

In conclusion about 90 % of the submission item particles can be inhaled, while 5 % belong to the thoracic fraction (representing 50 % of the particles in air with an aerodynamic diameter of 10 μm). 50 % of the submission item particles have a diameter of 40 µm or less.
