Description of key information

Considering that the substance is highly insoluble in water, namely < 0.005 g/l at 20 °C, the aqueous environment is unlikely the principal compartment of concern.

Two independent studies were performed to determined COD and BOD5, according to the internal method A-15, Biological Oxygen demand (BOD5), similar to the OECD guidelines.

The COD was found to be 387 mg O2/gr, BOD5 to be 16 mg O2/gr in both studies .

The ratios BOD5/COD is approximately 0.04, this value is less than 0.5 as given in the above regulation. Therefore, the test substance shows no evidence of rapid biodegradation.
